"Programming technologies (Delphi)"

The course is planned for secondary school students (ages ranging from 14 to 16) who know algorithmic methods, who can program in Pascal and who want to learn modern technologies of developing applications in Delphi integrated development environment. The main aim of the course is to teach students how to use Delphi programming technologies for a lot of applied tasks such as developing database applications, web-programming and others that are very important nowadays.

PROGRAM

During the period of studying students should get knowledge and practical skills in the following areas::

  • basic principles of object oriented programming;
  • Object Pascal language;
  • Delphi integrated development environment;
  • Delphi components;
  • classes and objects; properties, fields, and methods;
  • basic principles of event-driven programming;
  • defining static and dynamic objects;
  • adjustment of programs;
  • user interface components: graphics, files, dialogue windows;
  • introduction into WinAPI;
  • introduction into working with databases, SQL language;
  • client-server programming, sockets technology;
  • client-server database management systems; InterBase;
  • OLE technology;
  • dynamically connected libraries;
  • working with streams;
  • programming for Internet;

    Length of the course is 98 hours
